Based in sunny California, Polynesian mixed singer songwriter Tyana Marie is ready to share her unique Island Reggae fusion sound with the world. Listeners describe her vocal style as an “island Disney princess with a smooth Pop R&B feel.

Growing up, Tyana was raised to Polynesian music, 80’s and 90’s Hip Hop/ R&B, and Reggae music. With artists like Kapena, Pati, Anuhea, Fiji, Tessanne Chin, Lauryn Hill, Tamia, and Aaliyah as influences to name a few, it’s no wonder she can’t help but blend it all together to make something all her own. Her music presents itself as an Island Reggae/ Jawaiian jam, but her Pop/ R&B-esque vocals give her sound an added twist.

From playing and travelling with award winning Polynesian Island style groups to leading church worship services in different  Christian church ministries, Tyana Marie has grown up playing and performing all her life. From a young age, Tyana studied Polynesian music and dance while sharing the beauty of her Pacific Islander culture with her community. Her family’s involvement in the Polynesian dance and music community provided a place for her to learn from great mentors. The feel of an island style Poly- band helped her learn to perform anything at a moment’s notice (don’t wanna get da slippah!). From Tahitian drumming to fun ukulele jams or even if she had to jump onstage during a set for Hula she’s got you covered. Tyana’s involvement in Christian Worship/ Gospel bands helped her build her musicality and command of a band. Her weekends were basically filled with music but she loved it! Casually she would post little covers playing her favorite Jawaiian Jams or R&B joints but it wasn’t until the Summer of 2018 when Hawaiian Reggae band Kolohe Kai shared her uke cover of “Heartstrings” on Instagram that gave her the confidence to pursue her dream of becoming a recording artist and sharing her music with the world. From that viral share, Tyana Marie was contacted by different producers and artists to collab with in different genres. Her first ever feature came with New Zealand Pop R&B artist Soul Brown on his single “Love Is” from his album “First Base” released May 2019.

Currently, Tyana Marie is working on multiple collaborations writing and lending her vocals to producers and other artists in various genres. More importantly she has her own original music in the works debuting her Island Reggae Fusion sound with her first independent single set to drop Fall 2020 with an E.P. to follow.

2019 marked the beginning of her decision to pursue a career in music and today she is more than ready to take big steps on her journey. She strives to create a musical experience that takes the negativity away from life but also embraces the reality of it in a fun and hopeful light. Her music aims to bring listeners into a community and culture that understands what they feel every day from love and heartbreak to the need to get away. Tyana Marie uses her music to say “I see you. You are not alone. Let’s celebrate life together!”
