When you’re tired of where you’re at and need to get away… I am so excited to share my ukulele cover of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” because it was requested a while ago by some friends and I finally got the chance to make it. Kind of a mixed version of the Judy Garland and Israel “Iz” Kamakawiwo ‘ole and my own style. This song means different things to every person. For some people they immediately think back to their childhood and watching “The Wizard of Oz” or if you have ties to the islands; this song holds a special place in your heart for one of the greatest icons in Hawaiian music. For me, I resonate with both of these. But today, this song gives me hope and peace that someday soon I’ll be able to go and experience the world again. I hope you enjoy this cover!
